This year at midnight Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) atomic clocks
worldwide will add a "leap second" after 23:59:59 to give a reading of
23:59:60 before hitting 00:00:00. Normally, the last second of the year
is December 31 23:59:59, while the first second of the new year being
January 01 00:00:00. Note that this only happens ONCE, at midnight in
Greenwich, NOT midnight in every time zone! So watch your digital
atomic clocks at the right hour of the day for your zone and rejoice in
our extra second! ;-)

Here is an online clock, accurate to 0.2 seconds, for you to watch:
http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?UTC/s/0/java

For me, I'll be watching at 2005.12.31 17:59:60 Central Time

Cheers!
