Viruses can have an impact on our lives and our productivity wherever computers are found. This raises some important questions:

  1. Why do you think programmers continue to write viruses? What's in it for them?
  2. Are viruses mostly harmless annoyances, or do you think there might be situations where a virus might cause irreparable harm? Why?
  3. How seriously do we need to take the problem of virus infection? Should we have strong criminal punishments for people who are caught writing or releasing virus programs? Should the creators be held responsible for the damage their creations cause?
